There are several components to the updated regulation:
Cash Deposits
Currency deposit bags must:
Be tamper evident
Be made of clear plastic
Have a thickness of a least 5-mil
Be limited to 16 bundles

Coin Handling
Coin deposits in standard canvas bags must:
Have a color coded shipping tag
State the denomination, dollar amount, institution name & routing number on the tag
Be secured with a tamper-evident seal

Coin deposits in plastic bags must:
Possess a tamper-evident seal
Have a reinforced handle that withstands a 100+ lb test load
Have a minimum thickness of 6.5-mil
Be labeled with color-coded denomination label in the bottom right corner

Special Note: Be aware that the Federal Reserve Bank may refuse cash deposits if your institution fails to comply with any of the requirements noted in the Cash Services Manual of Procedures.
